Loki Ritual
LOKI RITUAL
written by DISTRESSED JÁRNVIÐR
-This ritual is for everyone, whether you work with Loki or not, but it is written specifically for Lokeans, which is why it's more based on UPG with flavours of myth and lore-INTRODUCTION
We gather here together to celebrate, understand and accept a deity who is often misunderstood, mislabeled and mischaracterised. We all know about Loki’s stories and what he brought to the gods - Without Loki, Odin wouldn’t have Sleipnir, Draupnir, or Gungnir. Without Loki, Thor would be without Mjolnir, the best of hammers. Without Loki, Skaði would not be among the Aesir, for her laughter was his doing. Without Loki, the gods would be without someone to keep them honest and accountable.
And without Loki, we would have no Hel, keeper of our loved ones; no Jörmungandr, protector of our realm; and no Fenris wolf, father of all wolves.
ODE
Loki isn't a god of tricks for the sake of tricks, or of pure chaos. Nor is he a god of evil or good, or anywhere in between.
Loki is a god of resolve, a god of consequence.
A god of improvisation and implementation. A god of utility and an initiator of change.
Most of all, Loki is a god of empowerment.
There is no easy path with Loki; you will frequently see him associated with change, revolution or balance. While this is true, it is a result of the agency and empowerment given by Loki, a god of opportunity and versatility.
Often it's said he is the god of thresholds, boundaries and frontiers, and you will often find yourself in unfamiliar territory, beyond your comfort zone, but the real boundaries you will push and cross are because Loki empowered you to do so.
Loki is an enabler, and as dynamic as he is as a god, so are the people who work with him. He's not a god of war, or of crops or of justice. Loki is a god of the people and of diversity within.
Loki doesn't care about the colour of your skin or the colour of your collar, only the colour of your belly. If you have the courage to take the first step, then you'll never walk alone.
OPENING OF RITUAL
Let us hallow this space, and banish all ill wights from among us, led by our Fender of the Temple.Gods above me, earth below me, fire inside me.
May welcomed spirits above, behind and beside us grace our presence,
as we offer our devotion, our prayers and our heartfelt intentions.
Gather with us and sanctify these grounds
- light central fire -Today we celebrate Loki,
Let us begin, not by inviting Loki, because he’s probably already here, but acknowledging his presence and accepting him into our space.

And may the Fender of the Temple close out our ritual. From the unspoken divine, to the earth, to our humble hands,
From our hearts, through the earth and to the sacred lands,
May our gift in this sacred space be welcomed and find favour in your embrace
And now the Gods depart. Blot is ended. Let us celebrate together in peace.
